Intermediate Training

4-6 dogs per class. Courses will run for 6 weeks and duration of each class will be 60 minutes.

Intermediate classes are designed for puppies and dogs that have completed Basic Puppy Training and Basic Beginners Training. Intermediate training focuses on gaining impulse control and introducing more communication skills during the difficult time of adolescence. Puppies start to enter adolescence from 18-20 weeks when their hormones start to develop. The more training is done prior to and during this time the better. Like human adolescence, ‘the teenage years’, can be quite difficult so we give you the tools and knowledge you need to keep your dog responsive and avoid problems developing or escalating. The programme includes stays, distance sits and downs, instant sits and downs, leaving moving objects, advancing recall strategies, socialisation with unknown people, meeting other dogs in a calm and acceptable manner and more.

Training treats and clickers will be available for purchase. All family members will be encouraged to attend the classes.
